Upstream is a new allied health practice in Grote St, Adelaide. Upstream is building a holistic team of allied health professionals committed to providing a high quality, integrated and collaborative service, tailored to meet individual needs.
The concept of Upstreaming is to deal with problems at the source, allowing people to flow more smoothly through life and deal with any obstacles that may arise.
As well as having a strong and experienced treatment arm, Upstream has an equally strong proactive focus which aims to create a buffer around clients, assisting them to navigate the challenges and difficulties of life. Our proactive program includes a range of groups, classes and information sessions such as mindfulness, yoga classes, parent-child art workshops and perinatal groups.
We aim to create a calm, nurturing and welcoming environment whilst being an upbeat, innovative practice. We value high levels of professionalism in combination with a sense of playfulness and fun.
KAREN DAVIES Director & Clinical Psychologist
Karen Davies is the Director of Upstream health and a Clinical Psychologist. She has experience working in a wide range of areas and has special interests in Perinatal Mental Health, Anxiety Disorders and Child Psychology.
TIM FISCHER Clinical Psychologist
Tim Fischer is a Clinical Psychologist who is highly skilled in working with both adults and children. Tim brings a respectful, skillful and flexible approach to support clients experiencing a diverse range of challenges and mental health concerns. Tim draws upon a range of modalities including ACT, CBT, Schema Therapy, and Mindfulness, and provides support and treatment for a range of conditions.
Tim also works in partnership with parents to support children who are experiencing mood, emotional or behavioral concerns.
Tim is a trained facilitator for the Circle of Security parenting program.
DR ZOE STEELE Osteopath
Zoe is an Osteopath, she uses a range of manual therapy
techniques in treatment, including manual breathing assessment, movement and exercise prescription. Zoe treats patients of all ages including babies and children.
MEL OPOZDA Health Psychologist
Mel Opozda is a Health Psychologist with an interest in all aspects of healthy weight practices and eating behaviors, psychological difficulties related to health conditions, management of chronic health conditions, pain management and grief and loss. She also works with clients experiencing stress, depression and anxiety disorders.
KAITLIN HARKESS Clinical Psychologist & Yoga Teacher
Kaitlin Harkess is a clinical psychologist and yoga teacher who is passionate about working to combine both yoga and psychology to obtain optimal outcomes for clients. She has recently completed training in perinatal yoga and trauma sensitive yoga.
NATASHA HEADING Complementary Practitioner
Natasha is a Complementary Practitioner specialising in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Kinesiology, Life Coaching, Time Line therapy and Hypnotherapy. She is passionate about assisting those to connect and enhance their bodies' own natural healing resources/processes and who want to experience a compassionate and supported space to let go, and to reconnect to a greater awareness of understanding of themselves. Helping people transition into a fuller expression of their own vitality and wellness: Mentally, Emotionally, Spiritually and Physically.
RICHARD DALL Art Educator
Richard Dall is an award winning artist and art educator who has a passion for working with children and adults in a creative and engaging way. He enjoys helping people to discover the artist within. Richard offers individual and group sessions in areas such as drawing, painting, kite making, clay modelling and Manga.
KOMANG WIDARI Practitioner
Komang Widari is a Balinese masseuse who is offering massages on Mondays at Upstream. Massage is well known for helping to reduce stress, stimulate blood flow, relieve strained muscles, detoxify the body and nourish and soften the skin.
